Your Bio
My inspiration comes from the city. Not sleek steel and glass towers, but the dirty and decaying urban landscape. Broken objects are more interesting than pristine ones; showing decline and struggle as a beautiful part of a natural life cycle. Whether in my own city of Toronto, or travelling across the globe, I seek out garbage, graffiti and the natural patina that time provides. My photographs capture the beauty and complexity of people, places, and things that are far from perfect. Decaying buildings, broken things, abandoned furniture, and aging cemeteries are my favourite subjects.
Photographs from my Havana, Cuba collection were featured in the September 2008 Issue of Applied Arts Magazine and were chosen for the CAPIC Rodeo show that will exhibit in the 2009 Contact Toronto Photography Festival. Photographs from my cemetery collection were shown in the Slideluck Potshow as part of the 2008 Contact Toronto Photography Festival.
